The most pressing problem at the height of the flu epidemic was getting bodies to the cemeteries for burial. Reverend Joseph Corrigan, head of Catholic Charities, with the aid of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, used six wagons and a motor coach to go through the streets of the city collecting the dead for transport to the cemeteries.
