Additional events, buildings, and historical figures line the edges of the map. The map was conceived and researched by Mary Bell Glennan of Norfolk, VA, and by William M. Campbell of Philadelphia. It was fact checked by Leo F. Stock of the Carnegie Institution of Washington, sponsored by the Catholic Daughters of America, and printed by Rand McNally & Company. Printed in bottom left of map: "Copyright 1941 Mary Bell Glennan". Printed in bottom center of map: "Printed by Rand McNally & Company. Chicago, New York, San Francisco."
