Lighting part 2

The unveiling of the new lights was set for October 28, 1896 at 8:00 p.m. To mark the occasion a grand oratorio concert was given in the Cathedral under the direction of S.L. Hermann, organist and musical director of the Cathedral choir. 3,000 people attended the event and to help defray the cost of the new system tickets cost 50 cents.
